Much of my driving the past few years had been local. However, I recently drove from Texas to Georgia and back to Texas and it was an eye-opening experience. As a former peace officer and firefighter who has pulled bodies from wrecked vehicles, I know the law, and I drive responsibly. I don't drive like a maniac. I don't tailgate them. I don't cut them off or merge where there is insufficient room. But every time I passed a truck or one passed me on the Interstate, there was almost 100% chance the truck would swerve or drift into my lane while I was there. It's kinda hard for me to maintain this patriotic "I support truckers" attitude when I get the impression they're all trying to kill me.
So, if "driverless" trucks can manage to keep it between the lines, that's a point in their favor.
