This is what creeped out Elon Musk too when he tested his AI. So far everyone is freaking around with their AI-based chatbots, agents, generative and analytical tools, all coming to the same result. It's slowly beginning to take control over us, not the other way round. Now imagine what would happen if it was given control over nuclear weapon systems. It could launch a world war if it wanted, just like in the Terminator movies.
