You completely misunderstand the purpose of regulation. Google and OpenAI DO, in fact, want regulation. They have been explicitly calling for it for years by now. Any loss they might take from following said laws is completely overshadowed by the competition it prevents. This is an unfortunate win, not loss, for tech monopolies and their entrenched interests.
