Totally behind evaluating tech use and boundaries at home and school (also agree that it should be leaned into only for older children, 15+ in my eyes), but I’m conflicted on how far bans etc. should go here for the older ones… If big tech is successfully pushing AI etc. on businesses and employers are pushing for ROI on that investment, then students will need to know how to use them (big tech creating a perfect storm). The same can be said for office suite products, they will need to know how to use a word processor, etc… The fall in attention spans could be down to overuse of tech at home and school, but could also be due to other factors, such as diet and PFPs, the decline in financial security and rise in troubles in the world, which affects all of us (increasingly difficult for parents to be present with kids and lead by example with all of the pressures - families suffer), etc… I don’t have a great answer to all of this, but I think about it a lot (as I’m sure so many do)
