The alignment problem in reality isn't really something that rational needs to be worried about. Just think of how "ai" works and what we want it to do. The entire point of creating the technology is to make something that can understand us and do what we want it to do. For it to be able to understand not only our individual words but the context behind those words. The idea of context is basically the antithesis for the alignment problem, we'd basically have to consciously try and make an "ai" that's goals were misaligned with our own.
Whats more likely is different states or even individuals making "ai" for use against eachother.
