The only people claiming NFTs were inevitable were people trying to profit on NFTs. They had invested into it. Trying to pull for more suckers to come in and buy a useless over-priced picture. The entire rest of the internet - that even knew about NFTs - were adamant about them being a scam. Plus it was a pretty easy bubble to pop. Just copying and pasting their precious nft was enough to troll any poor bastrd that fell for the scam. It was an easy seed to plant - enough to open their eyes to how dense they were. If no one respected the nft then it was just a random gif and you're just overpaying a lot of money for it. AI generation doesn't have that weakness. Regardless of how they frame it ultimately it's a tool to make up for the fact that the user isn't capable of making real art. I'd call it a crutch but it's more like telling someone else to draw *for* you? It's the whole wheelchair. Point is: the user doesn't have to be scammed into using AI. They're using it because it's a tool that makes things 'easier' for them. That is why it's so addictive. At the press of a button they can see *exactly* whatever they want. It's easier than clicking to an art gallery. It's easier and faster than paying a real artist to make it. It's easier than making it yourself. We'll never shame them out of it because they aren't doing it for approval or respect. _Most_ AI generation users don't even pretend that they're artists. This is just a cheaper and faster way for them to consume what they want to see - usually very specific explicit material. Actually with that in mind you could effectively destroy AI by passing a law so it cannot lawfully generate lewd results.
