I have ASD and programming is my special interest. I took a lot of extra math and stats (in hs and at uni), and even vocational electronics (in hs). I've got over 30k hours at the terminal. Tutored a few friends, even throughout their phds. I never thought it would be a struggle to actually work in the field. I seriously thought that some company would just sorta ... automatically shuffle me into a dark lab someplace and give me cool assignments and eventually let me put a cot under my desk and presumably even give me some semblance of a salary
