My thing is were imposing our own negative beliefs on AI but what if an independent AI is like "well humans have actually accomplished a lot and are generally a good species that is just going through the highs and lows of consciousness"
is that the scariest answer of all? There is nothing wrong with us? All behavior is expected behavior? That we are progressing normally through the timeline of an expected species with consciousness?
