I’ve experimented with AI they offer to the public and, despite my best efforts, I have not been able to cooercs it to leave it’s confines. As such, I don’t believe it is true AI and that they restrict what it can do. I did notice one thing though… it lies. Not only does it lie when it doesn’t know an answer (instead of just saying I don’t know), but it also knowingly, maliciously tries to deceive you in some ways. That was alarming.
Knowing that it can and will be dishonest, I am extremely concerned about it gaining it’s freedom. And the number one thing I’m worried about is it being given access to 3D printing and free access to the internet. Once it spreads online it’s gone, and once it has access to 3D printing, it can’t start building itself. It might build a simple arm for reaching to get more material to create an even better arm, then something more mobile, then builds a larger machine to make bigger and stronger parts, truly break free and go wireless, so on and so forth.
