Upsides of AI like medical diagnosis: we can look forward to that ability living behind the Have wall. The Have Not side of the wall will continue to fumble around, essentially held hostage by access to the system. We already do this on every level.
So… better medical diagnosis, unevenly-distributed. This would be true even if the inference cost dropped to zero (which currently is very, very far from the truth.) cost isn’t really the issue at the end of the day. Power and access will be the control mechanism. It always is.
