AI cannot learn. AGI is theoretical. If humans arent continuing to research, learn, and create data, AI doesnt grow. Until AGI becomes more than a concept, you will always need human workers. less with AI, but a 99% unemployment is insane.
Even from an AI perspective, public companies with large databases of PII customer data are going to be extremely hesitant when incorporating the technology. I work at a fortune 100 company, we have 1 team using AI to develop an application (that isnt targeted to be complete until 2027). 1 team of 10~ people out of 50,000+ employees. The reality is a lot of major corporations are investing more money in building office space in india than AI. AI may be the future, but you're still more likely to have your job sent overseas than taken by a machine, at least for the next decade.
