AI art thieves think what they did took a lot of effort, because they don't actually respect the effort that goes into becoming good at something. They've never actually taken the time to become good at anything.
When artists or developers or writers say, "it took me years or decades to become as good as I've become at this", they'll say those people wasted their time. But want support, because they spent a few months learning how to print out a picture.
