What I hate about programming with AI is that it makes you worse the more you utilize it. I've been professionally programming for a while, between SQL and React + Python. I would find myself over-relying on it. And over time I would forget how to program in said languages. I would be continuously prompt over and over and get mediocre responses on some intricate issues because most AI tools in IDE's dont seem to understand how stuff works! They are best used for small tasks that you can do, but any amount of details get lost on it.
While I do recommend using AI for the reason of efficiency, you should also make sure you don't let your skills get rusty. The best way I have found is it use AI in your professional work, but use little to no AI on personal side projects.
