Granted, if an AI is specifically marketed as something that produces your style, or maybe if it was trained only on your art, then yes, that company is stealing your art, but what's typically happening is the opposite of that. An AI that is trained on your data is no different than an artist who trains on great works in a gallery or on the culture at large — a thing we all do without paying royalties to anyone. "I shouldn't be forced to participate" You're saying that works you dumped into the public sphere shouldn't be available publicly. You have no reasonable expectation for those works to not be seen. Again, scraped is just a scary machine word for seen.
