It’ll make building simple functions significantly easier as you can just ask an AI to do it and it’s done. As opposed to building it yourself then having to look through page after page to figure out why your code doesn’t work.
But you still need a programmer to put together these AI generated passages, and to debug them.
Also it’s important to recognise that these AI’s are language models. They don’t understand the code at all, but they’re looking through millions of stackoverflow questions and answers and building a connection between them. So rather than asking stackoverflow a question, you ask it to an AI and that AI will generate a generic response from the culmination of millions of people’s work.
But you still need that work in the first place. If a new library comes out, you need the AI to be trained on it with a significant amount of examples and that would take a very long time. So for anything remotely complicated or new, a literal dictionary isn’t going to be able to solve it.
