I don't think this person was "told" they could never get good at art. I think they simply realized they weren't very good at it from the get-go, and assumed that meant they'll never approve. I believe this because I kept seeing videos talking about how you'll just get better over time, and I can see where this person is coming from. I definitely agree this is a toxic mindset. The key to improvement is perseverance, and believing that great artists are only good because they were born with their abilities is misleading. Side note: anyone who on ironically thinks AI artist plagiarism has no right to speak on the topic. Shadiversity and Bycloud's videos are right there, and there are plenty of other resources to actually learn how generative AI works. There's no excuse to be calling a plagiarism. It's literally just a thought terminating cliche.
