I don’t think we should panic too much. I am old enough to remember when computer generated graphics caused a mild panic, and a lot of disgust, in the illustration and graphic design communities. Lots of badly designed images threatened those who sat down with pen and ink and created actual hand painted illustrations. And lots of bad product design was churned out. I believe we have found a good marriage of those with actual skill being able to use computer programs to create good design. And the same thing will happen with AI. It will be just another tool that actual skilled people can use to make their jobs easier. Until then we will have dogs with 8 legs and humans with 3 fingers.
