I'm not a AI defender. But I have to say one thing. Generating AI images, can be a fun thing. Like you know? Hanging out with your friends and saying: "hey wanna see X doing Y whilst holding T in the way of a cave paininting?" I would never go out and say: hey look at this "Art I made by myself now praise my prompting skills". But I think as a fun little game, why not? Yeah, you could still argue that it steals from other artists. But in the End, if AI stays, might as well have a bit of fun with it. AI can be a tool. I like generating boring letters when I dont want to be bothered too much with like busy work, so it can help and I appreciate its help. But thats it. I think can have its place in our society. As an assistant. As a tool. As something well regulated. I wouldnt have a problem if it would disappear from today to tomorrow, but a lot if the times it is nice to have a conversation with Gemini or chatgpt or help me find the right lingo in writing a letter to a company or other more formal stuff. There are merrits to it. But atill, wouldnt miss it that nuch if its gone. In Germany we'd say: "das ist ne nette Spielerei, aber das wars auch" which kinda means: "yeah its a fun to toy but thats it, lets move on". And I think, this is how AI should be treated as a whole. A fun gimmick, something that has, at best, a big potential to assist you in your day to day life, maybe be there for some fun n games and than be put back for the next day, when its needed.
