I think it's pretty obvious what is needed and I wish these sorts of videos would bring more ideas rather than just calling out the risk.
We need more social safety nets not less.
Regulatory borders need to be put around capitalism...increased minimum wage, regulation to decrease wage disparity between executives and workers, increase in useful unions for job protections, tax breaks for businesses that employ people, maybe democratized businesses
Corporations need to adapt their workplace policies to current times. Increase efficiency with AI and then reduce working hours but increase employment while keeping wages the same (eg: hire 2 workers with 4 hour shifts rather than 1 worker for an 8 hour shift)
The chance for good with AI is great, but society, political, and economic systems need to shift much more quickly than they normally due to keep pace with the change that AI is inevitably going to bring.
I like the advice of getting a hands on, trades job. That'll buy people a bit more time. But eventually, that will be automated as well. And if you decimate the economy and workforce, demand for these trades is going to likely go down anyways. We need to protect the masses.
