That's a question I've wondered for a while. Without radical change in how an economy works, implementing AI is self defeating.
UBI misses the other reasons for having a career - it takes away a sense of purpose. I saw that in COVID, after baking a few loaves of bread people just sat at home and got depressed. A job is more than just an imposed requirement for money, it's also forcing a routine, order and sense of purpose to life.
