Folks, use your heads. Media control is not a cheat code. Think about how many wildly different takes make it to viral status. Media companies can't memoryhole mass demonstrations if they happened. And the government would never let crap get to 20% unemployment before attempting to implement solutions. Republicans aren't all insane, they only think the welfare state idea is dumb because they don't think AI and robotics can do that much work. When that is obviously not the case they will change their tune because to do otherwise is to become politically irrelevant. Both sides will champion UBI, but under different names and with different explanations of who will pay for it.
