We already use AI as reference where i work (boardgame studio), but we really uses it in rare cases. (like color schemes or compositions).
But Investors are already going as "No concept artists, no chara designers, no illustrators. Our 3D Artists will take Midjourney as reference and we'll save a really big part of our budget". And our games will have the worst Art Direction ever. And 2D Artists will have no jobs. Yikes.
