I don't want to be biased, and I work with PS since the 5.0 version from 2000 (yes, sound like a relic). Has anyone ever wondered how many jobs have been lost or had to be adapted since programs like photoshop and illustrator came out and there was no need for "real materials" anymore? Or how many agencies or publishing houses that provided photos or drawings for reference have lost their jobs or had to adapt since it became easy to search for an image on the internet? Have you ever thought that the main functions of PS or the algorithms that bring the brushes to life are based on the work of artists? In my personal experience, my friends and I, back in the old 2000s, when we were coloring comics and computers and software weren't in everyone's house, all of a sudden we found ourselves with a lot more money in our pockets because we didn't have to spend it on stationery and could literally do a better job in a tenth of the time. On an even sadder note: we were perfectly aware that there were some of our colleagues who were much better than us at using traditional methods, but they couldn't compete with the efficiency, speed and versatility that our product offered . Another important thing to keep in mind: many "traditional" artists, more than you can imagine, don't consider digital art/arist real art/artist. Obviously, stealing other people's work is wrong.
