Employed people pay “income tax”; unemployed people typically do not. Therefore, to uphold our founding principles in an era of advanced automation, it is a logical and pragmatic necessity that Robots/AI operators pay a "loss of income tax" at least equal to the yearly wages of the human workers they replace. The purpose of this tax is obviously to fund our government’s operations, along with universal basic income and healthcare, for all people. Which will be essential to provide for the general Welfare and secure the Blessings of Liberty for those displaced workers, whose ranks are projected to grow.
