This is completely my opinion, my thought process (my brain / model trying to extrapolate (kind of hallucination in ML world) but feels like some argument. This is problem of understanding the time which needs an examples from the past extinctions. Simple thought, God has created the Human with certain level of intelligence. Till today human is not able to understand himself completely(gods creation) and can only do a simple tasks/achievements in a life time. Also worlds collective wisdom could not really solve any problems like curing diseases, brain understanding or replication of liveable nature(understanding gods creation). Once human comprehends this problems(recreating the complete nature) (using which god keeps control on humans in world) next moment(trigger) there is a loss of balance which will lead to complete extinction. That is the time humans have to sustain before something totally wrong happens. Apparently ignorance is helping to run but will anyways continue its journey towards understanding(leading to an end(big time from now). Now coming back to AI systems, this would be analogically applicable to them, while we are creating them, there should(can and will) be controls which they do not understand and they will have time to figure out which is the time they live and let others live. This of course will and should be big and time consuming change, while their evolution (technological changes) will accelerate this process and also we have controls(scientific rules/laws) to control them giving us more time. Humans have evolved with constructs like society and culture which will help in collective existence and continue to understand nature, they would also try to flourish and understand its creation. But in general it would be the travel in time for humanity towards its conclusion which cannot be avoided (anything born will be leading to its end, could be anything). Possibly there will be some separation of geographies like what we have currently between humans and animals, in this case it can be one planet vs other, but again that would be just buying more time. Another point here is that, the way God's creation of human is such that their life is short and does not have any means to store thought and transfer it to others so that comprehending nature is tough task in life time and across generations and keeps us going(possible ways of nature controlling us and giving more time) something similar should be thought out by us. This is journey which has to go through towards its ... and every one are adding their milestones to it (if its not them some one else will do it, but will go on). Journey is joy(and inevitable) but not the destination. (Just some thought)
