It’s not possible with current tech and won’t be viable in the sense they’re talking about for a long time. And if it were that easy already, Hollywood would already be doing it. But I would really like to see the government get involved here. Our likenesses, for commercial purposes and otherwise, deserve protection.
EDIT: Since I'm getting tired of this exact same response, no, the technology to make whole movies without writers or actors is not there yet. AI cannot "act" yet. It can make the image of a human appear on screen and even talk at enormous expense. But it can't really emote yet. It can't have onscreen chemistry with itself. It can't act or write with anywhere near the subtly that humans can. It is trained on data, but it still needs humans to create the data. And even if the day hypothetically comes that it can do what it's hyped up to do, *it will still need human data* or it will be recycling its own crap.
All the technofetishists around this site and in big business who breathily claim that all human content creation will soon be obsolete have no clue what this tech actually does or how it works. Hollywood just had its best day at the box office in years, and AI wouldn't be able to create anything like the movies that gave it to it in the near or distant future.
