I think a lot of low-paying jobs will actually stick around for a while because the cost of that labor is already heavily subsidized by the government in the form of various welfare programs. If a company replaces that worker with a physical robot then all of a sudden the company has now internalized all of the cost that they had externalized onto the government. So for example at my local McDonald's there's a person who carries the tray of food out to the cars when the drive-thru line is busy and they park the cars off to the side. I really don't see that person being replaced by robot anytime soon because the cost of that robot is actually going to be pretty high in comparison to the cost of the human, again because the cost of the human is heavily subsidized. In addition when the human breaks, the company does not have to pay to repair the human. But when the robot breaks all of a sudden the company has a huge repair bill.
