This interviewer is looking for a place to interject without understanding what Sir Penrose is referring to, it was a good interview though because he only interjected a few times haha.
He is using Gödel's theorem to point out that:
- AI is unable to "understand" because "understanding" requires one to be "conscious" of something.
- AI is capable of measuring "that something is true or false" but not "why something is true or false" in the sense of truly "understanding it" because again that requires "consciousness".
- AI can "know something is true or false" and then cause and effect its way through a series of cases to reach conclusions. Not much different than how SQL would work but with cosign similarity (relational modeling essentially).
Hope that made some sense. It also may be a good test to figure out how many people are actually NPCs hahaha... sorry had to, but honestly that might work.
