@1:30 Tesla Robotaxi $4,20 LOL!
Tesla will take over this 'Robotaxi' market by the end of this year and make Waymo, Uber and Lyft obsolete. Tesla is now only in a restricted area in Austin with just a handful of cars, but will soon start to expand, first bigger in Austin, then to other cities. You clearly made this video before Tesla launched its robotaxi service. I think you will like the Tesla Robotaxi even better.
If all goes to plan, Robotaxis will be utilized about 5x more than personally owned cars, they will also get so ambiguous and cheap people will ditch their personally owned car and use robotaxi's instead (millenials already start to do this, the number of young people having a drivers license is about 10% lower then when their parents were their age, they use Uber and lyft to get from a to b.) it will save families many thousands of dollars per year, which they can use for other more important stuff, like your kids education, health care.... But what this also means is that the number of cars will start to decline!... And the robotaxi's that drive around hardly need parking, they constantly drive around, so those sprawling huge useless car parks may disappear (IF the zoning rules are adjusted accordingly.. get rid of the parking lot minimum quota's!).
I learned this from Rethink X and Tony Seba, highly recommend to watch their video's about this subject (Clean disruption and the collapse of the Coal, Oil, Gas and ICE car industries)
Btw, I have a 2021 Model Y and would totally allow it to be sent out on the Robotaxi Network, I figured it could make me a second income just as big as my main job right now.. But this will probably happen when I am long dead, because I live in The Netherlands.. But I see it as follows, My model Y picks me up at home after charging somewhere, drops me off at my work place, makes a 180 turn and starts to pick up Robotaxi passengers, and do this all day in the area of my workplace, and then when its time to go home I summon my Tesla to pick me up again and drive the 50Km back home, then I hook it up to a charger if necessary, and maybe I could send it away during the night to do parcel deliveries, otherwise do it all over again the next day.. During weekends and vacations I remove my car from the network.
About public transit, The Netherlands is quite famous of having excellent public transport, especially in our bigger cities.. People use it by the millions, because it is convenient, stations and stops are actually in places where people need to go, and not somewhere at the fringes of a city or a barren parking lot where nobody needs to go.. This is again a result of your stupid zoning rules. Many people that live in the downtown centers of Amsterdam, Utrecht and Rotterdam do not have a car at all.. To have a car in these places is very expensive, parking is really difficult and stupidly expensive.... But biking and public transport will take you everywhere quickly, at a fraction of the cost.
Check out the channel NotJustBikes showing this (A Canadian, who decided to leave the ugly and car centric city of (fake) London in Canada and moved his family to Amsterdam, he does not have a car, and does everything by public transport, biking and walking.. His kids love it!)
