Going after Shad is really low hanging fruit, he's a moron and deserves clap back. However he is the first boss of AI art, not the last.
No one cares about Shad.
My take, as a schizophrenic artist, is that I LOVE that people can use this tool to create their own images they don't have the capacity to make. This is what AI should do, make people's lives and hobbies better. AI should always be in the hands of the people. It should never be sold, never copyrighted. If you want to make portraits for your tabletop RPG character, please do! Even share it! But tell people you used an AI tool. I think this is perfectly fine.
However, corporations, should be regulated HARD in its use. They must be forced to watermark with "AI". I'm not delusional (I'm medicated) enough to not see that AI will take over, all we can do is regulate and make it free, don't make it valuable.
People will always want original and human thought. I sold one of my paintings to a doctor interested in schizophrenia, he didn't want a print, an AI can't do that yet.
