you know how you steal something? you take it and/or use it without permission from the owner. there is art that is in the public domain and thus belongs to everyone that is used to train a.i. but there is also art that is made by artist who have not given permission for their art to be used to train a.i. that is being used for these a.i. art projects. it would be fine, but people are using art that they do not have permission to use to make money for themselves. thats stealing. the art community doesn't really care about a.i. taking their jobs, they care about the a.i. taking credit for their years of hard work so someone else can make a quick buck.
