Most people don’t understand how complicated this emissions situation is. What developing nations see is that countries like the US reaped the benefits these processes for decades, developed their nation and are now asking developing nations to stop using them. How do you expect a developing nation to compete with a developed nation and catch-up without using fossil fuels? You can’t build firearms, continue building them at a faster pace than others and then ask everyone else to stop building firearms. That’s not how things work, you won’t see the developing world stop using fossil fuels anytime soon. I know, we need to think as a species, not as nations. But if COVID has shown anything, it’s that when shit hits the fan, everyone is on their own. This is the sad reality of how things work. Edit: I was in no way trying to agree with India’s stance on this, I was just trying to highlight the complexity of the issue.
