So I don't blame the young artist because it's very, very difficult to get your foot in the door for a paying job, and sometimes it's just easier to do a collaboration with a friend instead of just spewing as many drawings as possible. And from what I heard, it was a friend, not a random stranger online asking to for free drawings in exchange for exposure. So it's understandable on why she thought she could of trusted this person. And I don't know the friend personally, so I can't defend what they did. From the sound of things she just didn't take into consideration on how the artist would feel about it, and just acted because she saw an opportunity. This really should be a lesson for both. Pretty sure no artist will want to work with this friend, because they'll just ask for freebies and get Generative A.I to do the rest. There's no point in working with someone like that because they can just generate whatever they want. Need legal stuff, generate a document, it'll save you money from hiring a real lawyer. I hope the artist is able to make something with the work she did, and make something fun and new.
