You absolutely should fight these things, If the tech bros want their datacenters so bad they should use some of their billions on new nuclear power stations and the power lines to send the power. Rate payers should not have to pay for the upgrades to bring these things online. The electric bill does not care who's political sign you put on the front lawn every four years.
These AI facilities need to be made to be better neighbors before people let them become neighbors. Cut their noise, their pollution, their water usage and power usage by 50% or more. I mean these AI data centers use as much power as whole sections of Manhattan and they produce absolutely nothing and employ maybe a dozen people. At least a factory employed people and made something.
