This video completely fails to deliver on its title. It doesn't show how bias is perpetuated. It implies it is possible and goes on to assume it is. Existence of bias in distant history does not negate every attempt at advancement. I fully support support them if they want to run the AI learning with and without data from historical bias -what is that data? Can AI make good decisions without that data? IMHO, race should not even be an allowable input on home loans.
I can't imagine that financial institutions would use AI to increase their default rate or losses. If existing lenders are missing opportunities for good customers, isn't that a perfect opportunity for new lenders? African American lenders?
