Facial recognition technology was imminent and *will* exist in developing and 3rd world countries when the technology is widely obtainable. In the future, there will be new dangerous technology, and we'll have the same cycle. This isn't much about U.S.A. vs China. This is about being able to dispute it. The dangers are common sense. The difference between the western democracy and totalitarianism/big govt states, is that we are fortunate enough to talk about it and hold people accountable.
