I liked the industry researcher explanation for the autonomous freight trucks (based on the Dr. Deming principles of quality).
Instead of seeing massive lay offs of current truck drivers, we instead see a massive up-skill where the automation does half the driving, while the operator does the truck driving for more complex situations. As well as maintenance of the autonomous freight truck.
