I would like to respectfully disagree. AI has saved me and others thousands of hours of labor, and made possible things which simply would never have been undertaken without it.
Like it or not, AI has been handling things like the autofocus in your camera and the temperature in your living room for decades, and if science stays on the course it's been on for the last five thousand years... will keep becoming more incredible. Ask any gamer (well, anyone who can afford an nvidia product)... or ask Károly Zsolnai-Fehér if AI is a dead end for graphics.
The one and only problem we have with AI right now is that the corporate vampires who all want to be the first to patent and be enriched by it are in the driver's seat. Nobody in the history of computer science ever intended for this to be the next bitcoin.
