Doctors know a LOT, but it is not reasonable to memorize everything in medical literature. Drug interaction trackers are already used, and doctors often look up things based on the latest available information, which is always being updated. Having AI as a tool (not a replacement) is a great idea.
There are some super rare conditions out there that may escape the notice of somebody who is not specialized in that specific field. LLMs can synthesize a lot of data quickly and may be able to make helpful suggestions.
And it wouldn’t even need to be GPT4… you can train whatever model on only peer-reviewed and accepted medical literature. This is the future and it’s already happening. I think it’s a very good thing when used correctly.
