Ok, I have huge respect for Neil deGrasse Tyson but when he is talking about AI is is so much off. Sounds he knows very little about the topic. I love how he can simplify things but he simplicities AI to a level that is incorrect.
To start of Deep Blue the first supercomputer beating a human did not use AI but algorithms and brute force computing power. "AI cannot make a cup of coffee" is such a useless statement, while it cannot do physical things it can help you create a robot who can, create software for it and even have an AI processor so you could only state it cannot do it directly.
And saying don't worry about AI taking your job, even if it cannot fully do a certain job if a company previously needed 10 peoples but now can do it with 5 people using AI half of the department is out of a job simple and has to find a new one simple as that. There a a dozen of statements and so little information in this video.
Can AI do everything? No, but can a human using AI can do more a big yes. And will AI effect life as we know it going forward definitely, another thing I am certain of is that there are better people to take information regarding AI then Neil deGrasse Tyson.
