While I appreciate this, I think it's too late. Universal basic income should have become a thing years ago, funded by taxing wealth in a way that would include AI and robotics.
But our institutions are corrupt and too much power has been consolidated, so I don't see it (or anything similar) happening. We're lucky if we'll survive another few years at this point.
Based on what has happened in the last 10 years or so, what may happen even more in the next 10 - if we do make it - is the creation of even more BS jobs and products. Products nobody needs, managed by people who don't really know what they're doing.
