Sadly, most of UK schools, colleges and Universities' pedagogy senior staff are on the same level as this interviewer. No way am I at a level to even begin to match the level of Sir Roger Penrose was saying, but being brought up by an Electrical Engineer for my father who worked at Harwel AERE, going into the RAF and serving with JARIC (aerial intelligence) senior Army, RAF and Navy officers for five years, then getting a Degree in Maths and becoming a Teacher followed later becoming an IT Lecturer - I believe it gave me the knowledge and experience of 'assessing' IQ levels of high ranking educationists who I taught IT in the 1990/00s - which I found to be very LOW!! As such and really explains why we in the UK we are now in such a decline (not just Mathematics, which after retiring, I taught A-Level Maths to private students for University entrance purposes and over ten years,) in aspects of society, is because we no longer as we once did, in the last two centuries, have great men such as Penrose. Watching and listening to Penrose, who was very patient and made a strong effort to come down to this interviewer's level, a thought struck me, it was like watching a SF film where someone had come from a very advanced future or alien race and had attended an interview to discuss AI. I wonder if he has read the many critical comments on here and more so, if he can 'comprehend' and 'accept' them, I doubt it somehow.
