The people that you used as references who you're arguing against, I don't really know who these people are, so I may be missing some context. I am just working off what you provided in this video. I would contend that art is in the eye of the beholder. While I want to recognize some credence to your perspective, I fear you're just as dismissive as those you are criticizing although in the opposite direction. I look back at different time periods where technology lead to transitions in art. Also where technology completely subverted human ingenuity. I think it is clear there will be a continued realm of human generated art for those that are inclined to want that. But larger pools of consumption are not going to seek what you're talking about. They are indeed going to seek the product and not the method. Icai is creating a lot of what I would consider low effort art, nothing like somebody that hangs a paint can above a canvas and swings it around in certain ways. Why a person who goes around taking pictures and submits their best pictures to contest to be appreciated by others. Again art is an eye of the beholder just like love is in the mind of the beholder. It is always interesting when someone doesn't realize something was A.i generated and they are filled with all kinds of feelings and then when they're told it is A.i generated you can see them Express a feeling of betrayal or cognitive dissonance trying to rationalize that original feeling. What's happening is we're playing games with our biases, most things that are new and not well understood generate negative bias can people develop prejudices. I would consider you somewhat prejudice towards A.i art. And I think there's a few different ways that Arc can be looked at. But ultimately there's going to be varying degrees of human input in A.i art, from lower to higher. Something that may indeed fall into low effort and others may actually take quite a bit of effort with a sense of what the person envisions they want to the types of tools and strategies they use to get to that final vision. I'm old enough to remember how upset a lot of artists were when Photoshop first arrived. The reactions were quite similar. I read about the history of when photography was first trying to incorporate itself into the artistic community. A lot of the arguments against it were quite similar. A photographer can simply point in a direction and click a button that creates a photo that many people can enjoy. I we can say that a low effort art. But a photographer also can make sure they have the right type of film or settings both within the camera or with an environment and they could make a lot of different choices to get the right effect that they're looking for some may have a vision or a type of taste that they're trying to capture. And the same can be said with A.i art. Ultimately I think most people's fears come from financial security. This is where I have the most sympathy. Now, I grew up as a natural artist, I've always been able to draw and do all kinds of art without much effort. But I never saw myself making money off of it. I never liked doing art for any other purpose than my own curiosities. But I've known people who did find careers in utilizing their artistic skills. My daughter is definitely somebody that wants to seek such a path. I think some successful artists going forward will be those that can capture the small pool of people who are seeking only human made art. But the most successful artists going forward are going to be those that can properly incorporate A.i into their artistic endeavors. But more broadly people are simply going to be able to get a lot of the art they want without any human actions. This means a lot of people are going to be able to create more content, because of the use of A.i generated art. This means an explosion in a lot of slop, but also in a lot of really good content that many people will enjoy.
