I've been working in IT since finishing school in 2020 and vibe-coding since 2022. In every job I'm faced with it seems IT has to justify their exsistance to someone who knows nothing about AI. I'm in infrastructure support (Network Tech), so not as sexy as developer jobs, but we're still faced with the threat of AI and MSPs in our environment. "Why pay you 60K a year when we can pay this company that does everything?" type C-Suite thinking. I love AI as a tool (makes my ps1 creation faster) but in no means would I think it could replace an actual human.
