Obviously, each company is controlling these machines. One company is generating intense interest by making the machine say it plans to take over the power grid and nonsense comments like that. The other company has no interest in that sort of banter but has no issue with insulting the other company's creation. The only reason the company can call these machines artificial intelligence is likely that the facial expressions and head movement are controlled by AI.
