The thing is. I’ve used both AutoPilot and varies other car manufacturers driving systems including: Honda Sensing, Toyota Sense, Mazda I-Active Sense, Ford Blue-cruise, GMs Super Cruise and they’re all essentially the same. The worst two are hands down Toyota and Mazda but the other few have Lane Centering, Lane Detection, Car Detection with Stop, Traffic Aware Cruise and the big two American companies ALSO include Lane Change (Honda does not).
In my opinion they all work fantastic and even rival Teslas but this is technology. I’ve had all of these systems fail to detect cars, cops, humans, dogs and it’s not the cars fault if I didn’t intervene, ITS MINE!!
The issue isn’t the car, it’s the driver.
Now if the driver were have been using Teslas autonomous mode (FSD) the story might have been different. But it’s not, it’s using advanced cruise control.
