Raw LLM Responses

I would say that AI is significantly more transformative compared to computers or the internet. AI (speaking mainly about LLMs) allows almost unlimited access to information in a complete and concise way that has never been possible before. If I have some random thought about life/existence/philosophy/science whatever, before AI I could: a) load up a computer and run a program that has the information, most likely in the form of a document or video. Finding the information I need is basically a sequential search, which is the slowest type of search. Computers were amazing at doing tasks insanely faster than doing them as humans, and it was transformative in a similar manner to the industrial revolution. b) search the internet and (with a low probability) collect the information and opinions that I want and try to organize them. The searches for the information are fast, but the information is disorganized and has a huge amount of bias and misinformation. The internet transformed access to information to allow most people in the world to collect information that they couldn't possibly obtain due to distance and the inability to obtain the information anonymously. But unorganized & biased information a lot of the time does more harm than good. But today if I have some random thought, I can ask ChatGPT about it and I get a complete and concise answer to my questions which contains both points and counter-points, and is somewhat unbiased (possibly could get significantly less biased in the future as well). It's almost like having an intellectual friend who knows everything available to me at any time I want them, and I don't even need to start arguments or have the conversations derailed by something off-topic. I can get exactly the information I want extremely fast with almost no effort and its far more accurate than what I could get any other way. Of course, I am saying this as someone who doesn't belong to academia - those already in academia might be able to get more accurate information than me, but that's the minority and it's going to be way slower.
