To give a personal answer on why I don't care about early Angel Engine: Intention and craft matter. Part of what makes me enjoy art is seeing what somebody can do with their own two hands. It's inspiring to know that with enough training I could achieve similar things and even develop my own style. The way actual artists draw characters, emotions, hell even single strokes just oozes personality. AI by design can't replicate that because it's just remixing other peoples work to vaguely match your prompt. There are a thousand different ways to draw a smile but AI will just pick the one with the most mass appeal. It also fills in all the blanks you forget to prompt so no "work" is ever truly intentional. Aside from this I'm sick of giving bilionaires a monopoly on everything.
