i hate how pro ai ”art” people use disabilities and disabled people as a shield in order to defend their ai pictures. it’s very odd how often disabilities are mocked or ignored, but when it benefits a group of people who i’m sure consists mostly of able bodied people, suddenly disabled people are at the forefront of their minds and concerns. ”ai is access to creativity for disabled people” means nothing when one of the most popular and praised composers, Beethoven, was literally deaf 😭 i also personally know multiple artists who have either physical and/or mental disabilities, but still draw or create different forms of art. my mother is an artist, but she has ME-CFS, which is a chronic fatigue syndrome that has varying symptoms but can for example cause brain fog and bone deep fatigue, but she still is able to do art at her own pace. pro ai people saying that is not a justification, it’s an excuse, and it’s not even a valid one.
