I know what you mean about feeling disappointed (and duped) and losing interest when you discover that a picture you initially admired was actually AI generated, and lacked human input. It's weird because the image remains the same, so perhaps it's the image plus the idea of it that holds the value. Rather reminds me of how critics might wax lyrical about a painted masterpiece, but then be dismissive of it if they discover that it's a forgery and not a work of the genius they thought it was by. Again, the picture remains the same, but the feelings about it are changed dramatically. Of course even a work by a human forger imitating someone else's style has much more authenticity and soul to it than something churned out by a machine.
